In My Place

First, Happy Birthday to one of the most beautiful women I know.

Yesterday I was chatting with a friend of mine who in recent times I’ve kind of fallen out of communication with. There’s no discord or girl drama, just kind of doing our own thing I guess. I think? So in chatting I remarked (what a funny word) that I missed her when she hit me with “If you missed me, maybe you would think about returning my calls instead of hitting me with the old I’ll call you back.” Ouch.

I mean, it’s true so I owned it. I apologized and claimed guilt. I am a caller backer who never calls back and it’s not conducive to my relationships. Most of my friends understand this by now and accept it as a way of life (Hi, Em!), but I recognize that some relationships require a little more effort than others.

I think that I’m a good friend in most instances, but the phone thing? I suck at it and I’m the first to admit that.

Sunday Share: She Cook, She Clean And Never Smell Like Onion Rings

This weeks songs have nothing to do with each other and it makes me laugh because they are all so different from each other. As always, right-click and save as. Songs expire in seven days so even if the links look live, they aren’t - sorry googlers.

Mariah Carey: I’m That Chick - I just love her. The end.

Pete Du Pon: Basket Case - You can thank (or not) Toryssa for this. It’s so lovely and so not like the other two songs this week which is why I threw it in here. Thank you T!

Webbie: Independent - Last year I said I wouldn’t apologize for the music I love but I’m sorry about this becuase it is at leat 452 kinds of ignorant but if you can’t love it like I love it, well I just don’t even know about you. I can’t stop listening to it. Can’t stop. This is also not safe for children. Ha ha!

Bonus: I forgot this was saved on my desktop and it’s so quintessentially summer that you need it in your life so here you go:

Some More Things

+ This will make your day so much better

+ I kind of hate that flickr is doing video. I need them to come up with a function that will allow me to dismiss photos that I’ve commented on eleventy billion years ago and keep showing me new comments first.

+ Dear sunshine, please never go away. I love you!

Things

I’m alive. I think. Currently I am listening to Mariah Carey’s Love Story on repeat, being happy that I won the March Madness pool at work, being angry that my husband stayed home from work today because that means we have to share the tv all day and he will get in my way of doing nothing, and wanting to punch netflix in the face for making all the movies I really want to see have long waits.

Further to that netlfix thing, I know that they do this when you’re a high-volume renter but would it not stand to reason that if I rent and return quickly that just MAYBE you could let me watch American Gangster and return it so that someone’s uncle in Kansas can have it and keep it on the coffee table for a month? I’m just saying.
