I’m sleepy you guys, here’s some music.
DJ Khaled (feat. a whole gang of people): I’m So Hood Remix - The other day amy! and I compiled a mix that’s being called an ignorant mix. Yeah, it’s totally ignorant too. WAY ignorant, but perfect for summer. This song is kind of along those lines and I love it. Further to this, you can get the ignorant mix here, and the tracklisting is here.
Gladys Knight & The Pips: Misty Blue - I love this song in ways unknown and if you’ve never heard it - you are going to love it too.
Meshell Ndegeocello: Wasted Time - Have you ever listened to an album a hundred times and then all of a sudden hear a song for what seems like the first time? That is how I feel about this song. So beautiful and sweet and utterly perfect.
Stacy Clark: Closer - World, meet Stacy Clark. Prepare to fall in love.
I am 100% over the following things:
+ The Jonas Brothers
+ Job hunting
+ Work (not that I am not thankful to actually have a job)
+ Debilatating and suffocating heat
+ Re-runs

+ Brunch and people-watching with Julio at Asylum and Tryst.
+ Emily breaking out her cell phone manual to learn how to capitalize mid-sentence.
+ Asking my goddaughter what she wanted to do for the summer and her responding that she wanted to come stay with me.
+ That I absolutely and unequivocally love and adore my friends. That means the in real life ones and the ones of you who I’ve never met. From the bottom of my heart - I (unrequited) love you!
Let’s say we lighten things up a little bit around here? Here is some music that will make your soul sing. Please right-click and save as.
Alanis Morissette: Tapes - Can you imagine what it’s like to be an artist and to try to remain relevant (or even likeable) in today’s music scene? I know that Alanis Morissette is known for her sorrow and heartbreak and this song is kind of like that, but in a way more grown-up way.
Ani Difranco: Paramaters - I actually first heard this song on an episode of So You Think You Can Dance (don’t judge me) - and it’s so big that you’ll want to cry but then listen to it over and over again.
Busta Rhymes: Don’t Touch Me (Throw Da Water On Em) - Less you think I’m one of those emo kids who only listens to sad songs, here’s a not slow song and also, I love Busta Rhymes. For real.
Ida Maria: Keep Me Warm - Feist meets Ingrid Michaelson. I’m sure this song was on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy (side note: this season? meh. Besides Alex and Christina, I could give a horse’s ass about any of the other characters) and it’s sweet and sentimental and just kind of lovely.
Usher: Before I Met You - I’m super meh on the new Usher album, but this song? Brilliant.
